Ronald Patrick Blinsinger
November 19th, 1936 - February 1st, 2013
Mr. Ronald Patrick Blinsinger, Sr., died Friday at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam where he had been a patient for two weeks. He was born November 19, 1936 in Amsterdam, a son of Stephen and Mary Ward Blinsinger and was a lifelong resident of the Amsterdam area. Ron graduated from the former Wilber H. Lynch High School in 1956. He served with the US Army with the Eighth Infantry in Germany. Ron was employed by the Greater Amsterdam School District as Head Custodian until his retirement. He was of the Catholic faith and was a founding board member of the Fulton Co. SPCA. Ron enjoyed NASCAR and attending races at Fonda Speedway. He was an avid NY Giant and NY Yankee fan, liked to camp and enjoyed observing wildlife in the outdoors. Ron was a proud father, grandfather and great grandfather. He married the former Margaret A. Trzaskos on June 23, 1962. She died November 26, 2007. He is survived by his son Ronald P. Heidi Blinsinger, Jr. of Broadalbin, his daughters Nola M. Blinsinger of Ft. Johnson and Sharon L. Daniel Blinsinger-Hayes of Broadalbin, his brothers Robert, Jerry and David Blinsinger all of Amsterdam, his sisters Jeanette Montagnino and Nola Syzpula both of Amsterdam, five grandchildren: Jeremie and Cory Blinsinger, Autumn Rose Hayes, Alexa and Mckensie, two great grandchildren: Lillie Rose Blinsinger-Winchell and Meghan N. Blinsinger-Winchell, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron was predeceased by his brother Richard. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, .February 5, 2013 at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, with Fr. Stanislaus J. Swierzowski officiating. There will be military honors. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 until 6:00pm on Monday at the funeral home.
