Ronald Lee Collins, 79, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Friday, November 27, 2009 at Clare Bridge of Fort Myers in Fort Myers, FL. Mr. Collins was born February 1, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to Roy and Gertrude (nee Wejrowsky) Collins and moved to the Port Charlotte area 25 years ago from Ortonville, Michigan. He worked as a Representative in an architectural firm and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army. Mr. Collins was of Christian faith. Mr. Collins is survived by his loving wife, Sandra M. (nee Podles) Collins of Port Charlotte; son, Mark D. (Kimberly) Collins of Davison, MI; daughter, Celeste L. (Louis) Sorrentino of Port Charlotte; brother, William Collins of Romeo, MI; grandsons, Kirk Collins of Davison, MI and Joseph Sorrentino of Port Charlotte; granddaughters, Kelley Collins of Davison, MI, Julia Sorrentino and Emma Sorrentino both of Port Charlotte; and great-granddaughter, Lola Collins of Davison, MI. No local services will be held at this time. Funeral services will be held at the Buresh-Bennett Funeral Home in Hale, MI. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in South Branch, MI.
