Ronald "Cub" Lynn Culbertson
August 11th, 1947 - September 17th, 2013
Ronald Lynn "Cub"Culbertson, 66, of Kingsport has entered into eternal rest, Tuesday September 17, 2013. Born in Kingsport, Mr. Culbertson lived in Gate City (Yuma Community) for 22 years before returning to Kingsport. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom I. He retired in 2005 following 33 years of service. He was an active member of Christ Fellowship Church. He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Culbertson and an infant brother, Gary Culbertson. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Connie Vicars Culbertson, of the home; one son, Ronald David Culbertson and wife Leah; two grandchildren, Shea Culbertson and Clayton Culbertson; mother, Marjorie Culbertson McConnell, all of Kingsport; two sisters, Janice Reece and husband Terry of California and Sharon Thorne and husband Adrian of Church Hill; two brothers, Jerold Culbertson, Gate City and Marcy Culbertson and wife Macy, Chilhowie, VA; several nieces and nephews; and special friend and caregiver, Kymberly Meade with Pro care Home Health Services. The family will receive friends from 5 till 7pm Thursday at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7pm with Pastor Greg DePriest officiating. Music will be provided by Heather Pace, Trish Short and Christ Fellowship Church. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 am Friday at Holston View Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be presented by the the Amercian Legion Post 3/265. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:55am. Honorary Pallbearers are Bob Bright, Tom Davis, Jerry Sproles, Ken Surber, Bill Hartgrove, Joe Breeding and Curtis Moorehead. Those desiring may make memorials to Christ Fellowship Church, 260 Victory Lane Kingsport, TN 37664. Carter-Trent/ Scott County Funeral Home is serving the family of Ron Culbertson.
