Ronald Deay
November 17th, 1947 - August 13th, 2024
Ronald Deay, 76, of Amsterdam, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Ellis Hospital with his loving family at his side.
Born on November 17, 1947, in Amsterdam, a son of the late Thomas Sr. and Eleanor (McMahon) Deay.
A lifelong resident of the area, Ron attended Perth School. A proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corp, proudly serving from 1966-1970 and a Purple Heart recipient during his tour in the Vietnam War. Ron went on to retire from General Electric after 32 years; then went on to work for Cady Company and retired after 10 years.
Ron loved to camp & fish, but most of all he loved his family; he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Pearo) Deay; daughters, Kristen Roan (Carl) of Kennesaw, GA and Holly Casler (Chad) of Canajoharie; grandson, Benjamin Roan of Kennesaw, GA; step-grandchildren, Jareth Roan of Charleston, SC, Madyson Lippman (Ricky) of Parrish, FL, Hayden & Quinn Casler of Canajoharie; step great granddaughter, Palmer Lippman of Parrish, FL; brother, Thomas Deay, Jr; sister in laws, brother in law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron was predeceased by his granddaughter, Amelia Roan of Kennesaw, GA.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 11am until 1pm with a funeral service beginning at 1pm at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville.
Memorial donations in Ron’s name can be made to the Town of Florida Fire Dept, 6252 St. Hwy. 30, Amsterdam, 12010 or to the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, 133 Hilltop Road, Sprakers, 12166.
