Ronald Leon Dixon, 72, passed away July 7, 2017 in Olympia, Washington, his home the last 30 years. He was born August 3, 1944 to Harry and Gertrude Dixon in Marion, Indiana. Ronald graduated from high school in Marion, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from June 28, 1962 to his honorable discharge on July 14, 1969. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. An iron worker by trade, he loved welding and enjoyed building boats. He married Pat Moran on May 30, 1967. Aside from being quite the jokester, Ronald was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and had an immense love of animals. He is survived by his daughters, Sara Leavitt of Oregon, Wanda Medina of California, Colleen Dixon of North Caroline, and Cathy Meyer of Texas; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Tom Dixon, Richard Dixon, George Dixon, and Alan Dixon; and sister, Rose Nelson. He was predeceased by his wife, Pat Dixon; son, Eric Dixon; and brothers, David Dixon and Gary Dixon. Please leave memories of Ronald or condolences for his family in the Guestbook below.
