Ronald "Ronnie" Theodore Eddings

Ronald (Ronnie) Theodore Eddings January 22, 1940 – September 22, 2021 Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather joined his loving wife and family with God in Heaven on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. He was a true patriarch for his family and built a strong durable foundation of love. Ronnie was the son of the late Jesse Eddings and Naomi Blanchard. He was born and raised in the great Granby Olympia Mill area. He was a graduate of Olympia High School with the class of ‘60. He was a professional truck driver for most of his life retiring from his long-time employer Food-Lion, Inc. He was an active member for the Columbia Rose Society, along with being a long-time consulting Rosarian. In his younger adult life he enjoyed competing in dog shows with his Champion Basset Hound-Cap Town Sherman Tank winning numerous Blue Ribbons. He loved hunting, fishing, and immersing himself in his garden and growing plenty of vegetables that he looked forward to sharing with anyone. After retirement he enjoyed spending time taking his young grandchildren to and from school and drawing and painting with watercolors. Ronnie was a kind, loving, gentle man with a smile that would light up the room. Those left to cherish in his loving memory include his daughter, Renee E. Schriver (Dale); son, Ronald W. Eddings (Melissa); five grandchildren Brandi Langley (Thomas), Kelsey Wallace (Luke), Harley Schriver (Mia), Emmalie Eddings (Matthew), Noah Eddings; four great grandchildren, Carolina, Kayden, Lonnie and Myles; siblings Gloria Lagan, Ken Eddings, (Marlene), Louvine Funderburk (Tim), Jesse Vincent (Claude), Louise Dutton. Ronnie also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who were dear to his heart. He was predeceased by his loving bride of 54 wonderful years Carol Eddings, his parents Jesse Eddings and Naomi Blanchard. Services will be held in Lexington at Woodridge Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, in the Mausoleum Chapel, 138 Corley Mill, Lexington, SC 29072. The family asks that those who are able and would like to celebrate Ronnie’s life to please join them Saturday September 25, 2021 at 12:00-1:00 P.M. for visitation with services following immediately in the Mausoleum Chapel. We want to thank Lighthouse Hospice for all the help and care that they gave Dad.
