Ronald "Chief" Curtis Ingram

Captain/Chaplain Ronald Curtis (Chief) Ingram; Born: January 16, 1949-Died March 3, 2021. Ronald Ingram was born on January 16, 1949 to the late Eugene (Shorty) Ingram and Anna Lee Curtis Ingram in Georgetown, KY at John Graves Ford Memorial Hospital. Ron has a brother Kevin Allan Ingram his wife (Lucy) and a sister Beverly Jean Vice husband (Carl). Four children Lorie Ann Adams husband (David), Ron and Beverly had twin daughters Shellie Kay Ingram deceased and Kellie Fay Florence husband (Daniel), a son Andy Ingram wife (Rhonda) and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Ron was in the U.S. Airforce and worked at Georgia-Pacific Dixie Products in Lexington, KY until he retired in 2014 after 42 years of service as the Safety Manager. He was given the nickname of “Chief” by the employees at the Lexington Dixie Plant because of his service on the WCFD. He was also asked by Governor Martha Lane Collins to become a member of the Governor’s Safety and Health Conference in 1983 and did so until 2014. He also started as a member on the W.C. Rescue Squad before becoming a member of the Woodford County Fire Department in 1979 where he held the rank of Captain plus Chaplain, Dispatcher, State Fire Trainer and Secretary on the Fire Board. He was also a former 25-year Woodford County 4-H Leader, a 4-H Camp A.C., Fishing Instructor and holding offices of President, Secretary, Treasure on the Carlisle, KY 4-H Improvement Camp Committee Board during his service for over 25 years. Ron graduated from Tates Creek High School in 1968 and the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire with an Associate’s Degree in Industrial Safety and was a member and Deacon at the New Hope Baptist Church. For 6 years he was also a Chaplain in the Prison Ministry having held visitor services at the Eddyvillew Penitentiary Chapel for 2 years and 4 years as a Chaplain at the Woodford County Jail. He was ordained by the Versailles Baptist Church on July 11, 1984. Funerals are not for the person leaving us, but for the living that they might change and come to believe that there is a God and that they start to help others to come to believe in God through Jesus Christ his son. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to WHAS Crusade for Children; www.whascrusade.org Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Versailles Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church.
