Ronald Wayne Linkous

Rev. Ron Linkous, age 74, of Mt. Carmel, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, and is now kicking his leg up and enjoying the glory of Heaven with his Savior. Rev. Linkous had preached the gospel for the last 52+ years and pastored many churches in the local area. He was the current pastor of Elim Baptist Church in Church Hill. He was a retiree of Eastman Chemical Company with 32 years of service and had worked for the last several years as a people greeter at Walmart in Kingsport. Rev. Linkous was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lena Linkous; infant brother, Gordon Linkous; and brother, Harold Linkous. Rev. Linkous is survived by his loving wife, Susan Catron Linkous; children, Angie Linkous, Justin Linkous and Kyla Mullins (Jon); Ron's pride and joy, his grandson, Silas Mullins; sister-in-law, Phyllis Linkous; nephews, Jason Linkous and Aaron Linkous and their families; special pet cat, Benny; and a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Funeral Services will begin at 7:00 pm with Rev. J.W. Depew and Rev. Larry Arnold officiating. Military graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Church Hill Memory Gardens.
