Ron passed away on October 14 following an illness. He is survived by his wife, Diane, his children, Jennifer and Brett, parents Hal and Dolores, sisters Debbie and Dolores, nieces and nephews Heather, Derek, Brandon and Bryson. Ron was born in Baltimore and attended Loyola High School. Starting at a young age he excelled in swimming. He would tell his mom to put him in as many events as possible so he would not be bored during all-day meets. He swam for NBAC and talked often about relationships and fun times with friends and coaches. He earned a scholarship to the University of Florida, and then to the University of Arkansas. Again, cherishing all the friends and coaches that were a big part of his life. He loved being in the water, and he would try to explain to his children how you learn to "feel" the water. A feeling that comes after spending a million hours in the pool. In recent years Ron enjoyed swimming at the local pool, officiating meets, working in the yard, keeping his kids focused in college, anything having to do with sports, and caring for the family Chihuahua, Tori. What a pair they made! Ron brought humor into just about everything he did, and he enjoyed others who made him laugh. His family will take his love for them, his lessons of being disciplined and organized, and his humor with them forever. A Celebration of Ron's life will follow the church service at the Civitan Beach Club from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. 18604 Gulf Blvd., Indian Shores, FL 33785. Come and enjoy a time of fellowship, and take a walk on the beach for Ron. Friends are requested to be at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 11:30am on the day of services so that they may be received by family. A college fund for the children is in the process of being established.
