Mr. Ronald D. Papierniak, 50, of Stewart Lane, Fonda, NY, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday August 17, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 23, 1960 a son of Daniel and Eleanor Hemstreet Papierniak. He was a life long area resident and was a 1978 graduate of the former Bishop Scully High School in Amsterdam. He went on to earn his B.A. in Management from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1982. Ron played High School and College Football. He also was an avid Men's Volleyball Player for many years and played in the Amsterdam city league. He was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam and former member of Sacred Heart Church in Tribes Hill, NY. In 1982, Ron along with his father started Nor-L Canvas Inc. in Perth, NY. They quickly became the leader in the area for Custom Canvas. Mr. Papierniak was very involved with his children. He coached Little Giants Football, Biddy Basketball and traveled in order to see his daughter play softball all over the northeast and beyond. Ron lived for his children and family. He was an avid New York Mets and Giants Fan. He opened his door to everyone and was very close to all of his family. He married his beloved AnnMarie Carcone Papierniak on September 22, 1984. In addition to his beloved wife he is survived by his two loving children, Daniel J. Papierniak of Menands, NY and Megan M. Papierniak of Hoboken, NJ. His mother Eleanor Papierniak of Perth, NY. One brother, Kenneth Papierniak Rebecca of Olivebridge, NY. One sister Kathleen ZimmermanPeter of Florida. Dear Brothers-in-law, Eugene Concetta Carcone of New Hartford, NY and Frank Carcone of Utica, NY. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was pre-deceased by his father Daniel Papierniak who passed away in 1993, his Mother and Father-in-law, Carmen and Marie Carcone, His Grandparents, Katherine and Walter Hemstreet, Violet and Stanley Papierniak. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday August 22, 2011 at 11:15 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church , 50 Cornell St, Amsterdam with Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis presiding. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday August 21, 2011 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations in Ronald's memory to be used to set up funds for various sports scholarships and charities c/o the funeral home office.
