RONALD JOHN SZYMANSKIFebruary 10, 1932 August 3, 2017Ron joined his Lord peacefully at home, with family by his side, in the early hours of August 3, 2017.His lifes journey began in Milwaukee, WI and finished in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.He grew up on a ten-acre apple orchard in Hales Corners, WI: studiously progressing from a one-room schoolhouse to the great halls of medical school in Madison, Wisconsin.Following a medical internship in Eugene, OR, Ron chose to serve two years in Army reserve as a Captain and Chief Medical Officer on a French army base.He completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Wisconsin and moved on to begin his career in Salt Lake City, Utah.After moving to Washingotn state, Ron pted a professorship at the University of Washington, teaching Clinical Anesthesia and enjoying the bonus of Husky football season tickets.In 1970, with Husky tickets firmly in hand, he pted a position at Stevens Hospital in Edmonds, where he served the remainder of his practice, retiring in 1995.Retirement gave Ron the opportunity to immerse himself fully into his love of the mountains, his joy in growing and cultivating all manner of plant life and his passion for photography, cooking, and travelling with his uncorked wine group!His most memorable trip was to Poland, with his 90-year-old father, to visit their ancestral home and roots.Ron is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; his children Nadine, Brigitte, Eric, and Christopher; and his five grandchildren: Savannah, Madison, Michael, Marie and Parker; and sons-in-law, Greg and Gary.His is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Frances and his brother, Jerome.A Remembrance Gathering for Ron, will be held on August, 19, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Northshore Christian Church, 5700 23rd Drive W, Everett, WA 98203.
