Rookmin S. Suklal
September 14th, 1947 - March 18th, 2017
Rookmin Seeram Suklal, a.k.a. Lena, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2017 in Poinciana, FL. She was born in Clonbrook Village, Guyana S.A. Lena grew up in a farming community in Guyana and started off as a struggling greengrocer. After a few trips to Suriname, S.A. she gained knowledge of upward mobility. Seeking betterment for her family, she migrated to St. Kitts, W.I. and then on to Virgin Gorda, B.V.I. and finally to Florida, USA. Here, she invested heavily in real estate and took a liking to landlordship. She later bought a few grocery stores and finally ended her odyssey after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Through the entire journey, she has touched many lives with her kindness and generosity. She will be forever missed. She is survived by her sons, Harrinarine and Narine; daughters, Dorpatee and Gaitri; grandsons, Harrinarine Jr. and Shaheed; granddaughters, Victoria, Sadna, Karishma and Datra; and one great granddaughter, Naraiah. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday March 25, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. A memorial service will be on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 10:00 am at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City.
