VELEZ, Rosa L., 71, of Tampa, passed away January 4, 2016. She was born in Lares, Puerto Rico, moved to NY and in 1999 moved to Florida. She was a hair stylist and seamstress and once she married she became a homemaker. She loved gardening and sunflowers were her favorite. Her hobbies included crocheting and loved keeping up on fashion. Rosa was Pentecostal by faith, and loved her Lord. She would often read the Bible. Most of all she loved her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Pedro A. Velez of 50 years; four children, Pedro Velez Jr., Vanessa Velez Soto (Artie Carreno), Elvin Velez (Margarita) and Alexsandra Velez (Julio Melendez); eight grandchildren, Rebecca, Ashley, Melvin, Kalin, Leah, Lucas, Julio Jr., and Jaime; three great grandchildren, Julius, Kiara and Liam; two brothers; six sisters. She was loved and will be missed. A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
