Rose Marie Becktold

Rose Marie Becktold, 96, of Tacoma passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Rose was born in Enid, Oklahoma on December 6, 1927 to Lester and Josephine Walters. She attended Saint Joseph private Catholic school where she graduated from high school. Rose met the love of her life Clarence James(Jim) Becktold, who was in the Air Force stationed at Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma. They were married December 2, 1949. Jim being in the Air Force allowed them to travel to Japan, Newfoundland and California until they settled in Tacoma when Jim retired from the service. They had five children.

Rose loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother (Gigi Rosie) Rose enjoyed being a homemaker; sewing, baking, barbecues, dancing, gardening, and caring for her many dogs and cats over the years.  She attended Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Tacoma. In addition to her parents, Rose is proceeded in death by her sisters 

Doris Quarve, Sandra Dierksen and her husband Clarence James Becktold whom she will rest with at Tahoma National Cemetery.  Rose is survived by her children, Jim(Cindi) Becktold, David Becktold, Linda Johns, Patricia MacCallum and Steven(Marcie) Becktold. Twelve grandchildren, many great grandchildren, two sisters, Patty Griffin, Kay Curtis and a brother Gary Walters.

A private family celebration of life was held in her honor.
