As beautiful as the sunrise and as unaffected as a flower, our Mother, Rose Marie Bowen, died Saturday, October 25 at the age of 78. She was born March 27, 1936 in Yonkers, NY to Emil and Josephine Swabson; the second of three girls. Her childhood was happy and filled with love. She graduated in 1954 from Commerce High School in Yonkers. Live video feed will start at 2:00 PM Wednesday October 29th,2014 Rose was the essence of the perfect mother; grounded, witty, loyal, smart and kind. However, what Momma, “Rose Bud” did best was love her family, unconditionally. She was her kids Number One Fan! No one could stand in her way when it came to supporting her family, yet she carried an innocence of spirit that was evident throughout her life. She made time for everyone and knew how to make everyone feel like they were her favorites. Her priorities in life were her children, grandchildren, and her husband. She is survived by her husband Charles Bowen, children Jack Winn (wife Julie, son Johnny), Ken Winn (wife Nancy, children Chris and Christina), Charles “Chick” Winn (wife Karen, children Seth and Samantha), Frank Winn (wife Kathy, children Britany, Johnny and Rose), Greg Winn (children Ashley, Brianna, Charles “Chick” and Joseph), Penny Porteous (husband Chuck, children Zachary and Joshua), step-children Bonnielee Woodberry (husband John Yetter, children Brian, Isaac and Sarah), Elizabeth Ann Driscoll (children Eowyn and Branwyn), Charles “Skip” Bowen (wife Janet, children Mason, Joey, Kristine and Joshua), Mason Bowen (wife Sandy, children Chrissy, Keith , Kyle and Brittney) and great-grandchildren (Tara, Kara, Camdon, Samuel, Maggie Rose and Samson) Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 29 at 2:00pm Beckman-Williamson Funeral Homes, Cocoa Beach. Reception following service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her honor to St. Jude Children.
