April 26th, 1918 - March 4th, 2008
GUNN, ROSE M. A resident of St. Petersburg for sixty years, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008, after a long illness. She was born April 26, 1918. Rose was a native of Staten Island, N.Y. and relocated with her family to St. Petersburg in the late 1940's. She was employed for many years by the St. Petersburg Times, advancing to executive secretary before her retirement. Rose and her sister, Mary, took loving care of their father, mother and mother's brother, Ted. Rose was an avid reader, and enjoyed the challenge of the New York Times crossword puzzle, which she worked daily. She is survived by nephew Richard Gunn, nieces Moira Gunn and Margaret Gunn, all of San Francisco; and by nephew Tim Gunn of Baton Rouge, and niece Tina Robison of Syracuse, Utah. Preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Charlotte, brothers, Ted, John, and William, and sister, Mary. Friends may call Friday, March 7th from 9:30am - 10:30am at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes, 2201 Dr. MLK St. N. A Funeral Mass will be Friday at 11am at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1800-12th Street N. The family extends a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Bon Secours/Maria Manor, who gave her excellent care during the last years of her life.
