Roselyn M Potoczny (Prior) 93 years old of South Pasadena, FL. passed away peacefully May 15, 2023, at her daughter's home surrounded by her family. Rose was a resident of Shore Crest, who enjoyed traveling from her home in New York to her Florida home seasonally for greater then 30 years, before becoming a full time resident in 2019. Rose, born in Brooklyn, New York, raised in Cooperstown, New York, (The Home of the Baseball Hall of Fame). Educated in the Springfield Center School System and spent her childhood growing up on the majestic shores of Oswego Lake, where family owned and operated a beautiful lake front vacation resort. Rose met her husband Michael, moved to Utica, New York where they raise there family in a loving home. Rose worked for the state of New York until her retirement. Rose's home was her castle where many wonderful memories were made. Her home was surrounded by beautiful flowers, a manicured lawn and included a lovely inground pool which was her pride and joy. Rose and Mike enjoyed yearly cruises which Rose expertly planned. As a life long Yankee fan, Rose could quote batting averages and statistics, especially from the Yankees Championship years. Most of all Rose was noted by her friends and neighbors as the glue that kept her family together. Rose is predeased by her husband Michael (May 12, 2009), her son Michael (September 18, 2005) and her grandson Eddie ( May 26, 2018). Loving mother of Charlotte Prior-Van Kuren (Don), William Potoczny (Lynne), Sandra Potoczny (John Kasch), Gail Potoczny, Mary Jones (Pat). Grandmother of Michelle, Jennifer, William, Michael, Katheryn, Kayla, and great grandmother of nine. Donations can be made to Sun Coast Hospice 3050 1st Ave S. St. Petersburg FL 33712
