Rosemary A. Chittenden
October 31st, 1925 - March 20th, 2006
Mrs. Rosemary A. Chittenden, 80, of Gloversville NY, entered into eternal peace on March 20, 2006 at Nathan Littauer Hospital. Rosemary fought a courageous battle with cancer, but was called home to her heavenly father, surrounded by all of her loved ones. Born on October 31, 1925 and raised in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, Rosemary was a devout Catholic and a firm believer in a strong family bond. She passed that strong belief on to her children and grandchildren. Rosemary?s family was her life and passion. The home she made for her family was open to all whom she loved dearly. As a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Catholic religion, she was very involved and active in the faith community. A long time resident of Gloversville, NY, Rosemary was employed by the New York State Department of Labor in Gloversville until her retirement in 1993. She spent her later years enjoying the company of family and friends, shopping on QVC and being with her dogs. Rosemary is survived by her loving children, Thomas Meehan Elizabeth of Novato, California; James Chittenden Andrea; Kathleen Litzinger Kevin; Susan Hunter companion Brian; all of Gloversville, New York; Robert Chittenden Tammy of Fort Plain, New York; her grandchildren, Leslie and Tommy Meehan of Novato, California; Briana, Heather, James, Robert, Joseph and Matthew Chittenden, Ronald and Jenna Patterson, and Kristofer Hunter, all of Gloversville, New York; Michael and Jessica Wapp of Petaluma, California; Kaila, Tiffani and Sharissa Hogan of Fort Plain, New York; and one great grandson that she held on to meet, Kaden Chittenden of Gloversville, New York; her ex-daughters-in-law Michelle Meehan and Denice Chittenden whom she continued to have a relationship with throughout the years, and her two beloved dogs Emma and Chloe. She was predeceased by her husband Glenn Chittenden of Gloversville, New York, her parents James and Adele Meehan, her aunt and uncle Kathryn and Clarence Broderick who raised her, from Shenendoah, Pennsylvania. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm Friday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St.; Gloversville, where a prayer service will be conducted 9:15 am Saturday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, Gloversville. Private entombment will take place in the family mausoleum at FernDale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of your choice.
