Rosendo Raymond Elizondo

Rosendo Raymond Elizondo "Sonnie" "Rose", age 73, of Reno, Nevada passed away Saturday, May 29th, 2021. Born on October 9th, 1947 to Rosendo M. and Charlotte Elizondo, Sonnie was a loving individual who touched the lives of all who knew him. He graduated from Hill High School in 1965. He went on to work at Hoerner Waldorf Corporation for several years before moving to Reno, Nevada. In Reno he worked at Bonanza Casino from which he retired. In his early years he volunteered as a firefighter and enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing and spending time with family. He loved sports and was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins fan! In his later years he loved giving back to his community, feeding the less fortunate and donating to several charities in his area. He loved gardening, cooking and spending time with his beloved dog "Babydoll" and cat "Cocoa". He had many friends in his community that he loved as well. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosendo M. and Charlotte Elizondo; sister, Theresa Elizondo and brother-in-law, Donald Ronayne. He was survived by his children, Rosendo T. "Ross" Elizondo (Cindy), Anthony R. "Tony" Elizondo (Kim) and Michelle R. "Shelly" Nelson (Mark); Grandchildren, Taylor Nelson, Shaina Nelson, Trevor Elizondo, Rosendo "Jack" Elizondo and Grace Elizondo; Sisters and Brothers, Christina Ronayne (Dick), Patrick Elizondo (Theresa), Colleen Devine (Bob), Timothy Elizondo (Keri), Charlotte Moser (Greg), Peggy Jerabek (Brian) and Rose Holman (Ken) and many, many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 E. 7th Ave, North St. Paul. Visitation Friday June 25, 2021 at 11:00am - Prayer Service 12:30pm - Burial 1:00pm, St Mary's Cemetery- Luncheon to follow at the Church of St. Peter, 2600 N. Margaret St, North St. Paul.
