Roy John Haas
May 22nd, 1951 - December 17th, 2016
ROY J. HAAS, age 65 of Hebron passed away Saturday December 17, 2016 at the UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 22, 1951 to Roy and Elsie (Rohloff) Haas. Roy farmed his entire life in the Town of Hebron on the family farm. He was also employed at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater as the Lead Custodian. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He loved farming and his animals and he always enjoyed his Friday night fish fry. Roy Served on the board of directors at the Bank of Helenville and on the board of the Jefferson County Holstein Association. He breed, raised and showed registered Holsteins. The Haas family had received the Century and Sesquicentennial Farm and Home Award, a prestigious award given to families who have dedicated their life to Wisconsin farming for 100 or 150 years. We had received the Century Farm and Home Award in 1985. The farm has been in the family since 1860. He will be deeply missed by his family Jennifer (Troy) Clauer of Whitewater, Katie (Shad) Ladell of Oregon, Kevin (Sarah) Haas of Deerfield, Laura (Willie) Jacobson of Jefferson. Grandchildren Jonathan Clauer, Logan Ladell, Addison and Noah Haas, Hunter, Brody and Autumn Jacobson. Sister Sally (Bill) Schutte of Whitewater. Mother of his children Joann Lueck Lamrouex of Janesville. Nephew Jeremy (Melissa) Johnson of Jefferson, Niece Kara (Jake) Hagen of Fort Atkinson, His longtime companion Iva Weger of Madison, many other nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and half-sister Viola Grosenick, half-brother Orly Fletcher. Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 22, 2016 at First United Methodist church in Fort Atkinson with the Rev. Russ Frees officiating, burial will follow in the Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 21, 2016 at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home in Jefferson, and then again on Thursday at the church from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Visit, www.schneidermichaelisfuneralhome.com to leave a condolence or light a candle in his Memory.
