In Loving Memory
Roy Jenkins, born on May 29, 1953, in Japan, passed away on August 11, 2024, at the age of 71. Roy’s life journey took him from his birthplace in Japan to the United States as a child, where he grew up in the Monterey-Salinas area, a place that became home and shaped his character.
Roy was a man of many talents and a true "jack of all trades." He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He later spent many years working alongside his close and devoted friend of over 35 years, Melvina, at the Wild Horse in King City, where he became a cherished and beloved member of the community.
Roy is survived by his wife, Janet, his son, Stephen, and his wife, Samantha, his daughter, Alicia, and her husband, Carlos, and ten beautiful grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Raymond, and his family as well as Susie, who treated and loved him like a son.
Roy was preceded in death by his mother, Iso, his father, Kendall, his brother, Steven, and his sister, Mary Lou.
Roy was a man of great intelligence, humor, and had a magnetic personality that people were naturally drawn to.
Roy's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, a testament to a life well-lived, filled with love, hard work, and unwavering loyalty. A private memorial will be announced at a later date.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
