Roy Roberts passed away at the age of 79 on Sunday June 22, 2014 at his home in Pine Grove, CA. Roy was born in Grandview Washington on June 2, 1935. Roy is survived by his best friend and loving wife Dorothy Roberts of nearly 38 years; his son Paul Davis, his five daughters; Annette Cavalier, Carol Gray, Royce Doucette, Debbie Koerner, and Patricia Roberts; his three step-sons, Craig Pippin, Brad Pippin and Scott Pippin; his step-daughter Julie Middleton; 23 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren including three additions by the end of 2014, in which two will be twins; his three brothers, Stan Redmond, Ralph Redmond, and Danny Redmond and his two sisters Betty VanDusen, and Anna Andrews; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his Mother Emily Redmond and Father Lowell Pollard. Roy was a U.S Navy Korean War Veteran and worked for 27 years for the Laborers Union, 10 years as a Laborer and 17 years as an Instructor at the Laborers Training School in San Ramon, retiring in 1988. Roy resided in Livermore, while also spending his leisure time over 20 years at their trailer at Lake Pardee where he greatly enjoyed family outings. Roy's passion was fishing, he loved to take his boat out on the Lake with family and friends and share his fishing expertise. During Roy's last 17 years of retirement, Roy and his wife resided in Pine Grove, California. One of his favorite pastimes was going to the Jackson Rancheria with his wife, where he could be found playing his favorite slot machines. Roy will be interred at the National Veterans Cemetery in Dixon California on July 25, 2014. Friends and family are invited to attend an Honor Guard Service at 2PM on August 2, 2014 at his family home in Pine Grove, California, followed by A Celebration of Life from 3PM-7PM.
