Roy Ellis Tullar went to be with the Lord on February 19, 2019, one day after his 88th birthday. He was born February 18, 1931 in the family home at Yorkshire, NY, to his parents Harry and Ethel (Mercer) Tullar. On October 13, 1951 Roy married Josephine Norton in Arcade, NY. Roy served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict as a Crew Chief of the 318th Airborne Division, USAF. Upon completion of his military service, Roy returned to Arcade, NY, and worked as a production engineer with Motorola. Roy was instrumental in the development of the “klimco cam,” which was vital in the production of AM radios for automobiles. In later years he was responsible for alternator production in trains, commercial trucks and automobiles. He completed his industrial career with Pres-to-lite. Roy was always the helpful neighbor to his friends in the Villages of Seaport, Fl and Sunset Bay, Rushford Lake, NY. For many years he provided a bi-cycle service to the delight of the residents of the Villages of Seaport. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Josephine, daughter Darlene (Stephen) Devine of Caneadea, NY, son Darrell (Donna) Tullar of Brackney, PA; four grandchildren David (Noelle) Devine, Daniel (Samantha) Devine, Darrell Roy Jr. (Jessica) Tullar, Casey (Justin) Kromko; and nine great-grandchildren. Roy was pre-deceased by his brothers Frank, Paul, and Richard. A grave-side memorial service will be held at the Arcade Rural Cemetery on Saturday May 25, 2019 at 11:00 am. Memorial gifts may be given to Christ Lutheran Church, Cape Canaveral FL; Vitas Hospice of Melbourne, Fl; Caneadea United Methodist Church, Caneadea, NY; or the charity of one’s choice.
