Roy Russell Walters

Funeral service for Roy Russell Walters, 65, of Columbia, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at Woodridge Memorial Park Gazebo. Interment will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park with Full Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service in the Gazebo. Born in Hammond, IN, he was a son of the late Russell Walters and Dorothy Jackson Walters. He was a U.S. Army Veteran; and a member of Ft. Jackson Golf Course. Mr. Walters was the owner of Walters Appliance Service, Inc. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Paula Pinnick Walters of Columbia; daughter, Karen Sanders (Rob) of Columbia; son, Raymond Walters (Samantha) of Elgin; sisters, Anita Calhoon of IN, Sandy Meredith of MS and Joyce Eckstrom of IN; brothers, Donald Walters of MN and Robert Walters of IN; grandchildren, Caitlin and Caleb Walters, Jaydon, Paula Kay and Scarlett Sanders. Mr. Walters was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Phyllis Werth and grandson, Zachary Russell Earl Sanders.
