Rozella "Rose" Doheny

Rozella "Rose" Doheny, 82, of Ione, CA, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Mark Twain St. Joseph Hospital in San Andreas. Rozella was born in Suck Creek, West Virginia on April 2, 1930, a daughter of the late Margaret Janey (Lilly) and Charles William Lilly. Rose is survived by her adoring husband of 27 years, Robert "Bob" of Ione, daughter, Linda Rogers, of Ione; son, Steven Lily, of Pine Grove; step daughter, Leah Parker; step sons Robert, and his wife Dotty Doheny Jr., Anthony, and his wife Joan Doheny, Darryl, and his wife Kelly Doheny; sister, Lucy Lucus, of West Virginia; grandchildren, Janette Rogers, Paula Romo, Penny Ortega, Michael Lilly, Adam Doheny, Brittany McGill, Jennifer Parker, Kristina and her husband, Rob Long; great grandchildren, Jacob, Justin, Julianna, Mikey and Brody. Rose grew up in Suck Creek, WV, moving to Ellison, WV at age 16. In 1959 she and her children moved to the Bay Area where she worked for a packaging company for 15 years. In 1985 she met a persistent young man, Bob Doheny who would eventually sweep her off her feet to a wedding chapel in Reno. The couple moved to Ione in 1985 and continued to live for the past 25 years. They enjoyed many trips to the delta especially Isleton where they made many friends. Rose loved trips to Reno and Las Vegas trying her luck at the slot machines. She was a fun loving woman who treasured her family and cherished the late night conversations she and Bob would have just talking about anything and everything. Friends are invited to a visitation Wednesday, August 1, 2012, 11:00 to 2:00 PM at Daneri Mortuary in Jackson. A reception will follow at the family home.
