Ruben Andrew Galvan SMSGT

Ruben passed away peacefully from complications of Alzheimer's Disease early Sunday morning with his wife by his side. They had just celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary on April the 18th. Ruben was born in San Antonio, Texas and later raised in Severence, Colorado. At the age of 17 he joined the USAF and served 22 years; retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. Being a man who loved to be of service to his country, he then joined the Washington State Guard and served 13 years; retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Ruben is survived by his wife Carol; brother in law, Russ Pedersen; 3 sons, Van, Robert, Ruben Jr.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Delia of Texas City, TX; brother Namencio of Clarksville, TN. He was preceded in death by his two sons; Hoyt and Kevin; and grandson Bobby. Service will be held at By His Word Christian Center, 10110 Aqueduct Dr E, Tacoma Monday May 5 at 10:30AM with a Military service to follow at 1:15PM Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA 98042.
