Ruben Rosales
November 22nd, 1927 - November 20th, 2013
Ruben S. Rosales, 85, died on November 20, 2013. He was born in Tucson, Arizona on November 22, 1927 and resided in Eloy, Arizona until moving to Monterey County in 1970. Ruben was a WWII Navy Veteran and served on the U.S.S. Cumberland Sound from 1945 to 1948. After his duty, he worked as a foreman on Santa Cruz Farms in Arizona. After moving to California, he continued working in agriculture with Oshita Farms. Ruben loved his family and being outdoors. He enjoyed working with his hands and was a man of many trades. Ruben was an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. Ruben is survived by his sister, Connie R. Pallanes of Tucson, AZ; brothers Francisco S. Rosales of Douglas, AZ, Joseph J. Rosales of Phoenix, AZ and Patricio S. Rosales of Casa Grande, AZ; children, Hope (Henry) Vidal of Casa Grande, AZ, Gloria Rosales of Gonzales, Teresa Bermudez of Gonzales, Frances Rodriquez of Soledad, Michael (Rosa) Rosales of Salinas, and Rebecca (David) Rosario of Gonzales; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his sister Carmen Baker; brother, Robert Rosales; son Gabriel Rosales; and wife, Tina Rosales. A Memorial Mass with Military Honors will take place on Thursday, December 5, 2013 10am at the St. Theodore's Catholic Church 125 Center St. Gonzales, CA 93926. Cremation has taken place.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
