Ruby Holmes Williams

Mrs. Ruby Holmes Williams, 68 of Charlotte, NC, died Friday, April 3, 2015 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster. Mrs. Williams was born on December 07, 1946, in Lumber Bridge to the late Margaret Williams Holmes and Rufus Earl Holmes. She was raised in Lumberton, N.C. and moved to Charlotte, N.C. after high school. Mrs. Williams met the love of her life at Plaza Hills Pharmacy where she worked and was married in July 1967. She loved flowers and worked as a florist for many years, enjoyed spending time with her husband and loved her family very much. She also enjoyed cooking and giving everyone seconds, adored dressing up, listening to music, dancing, hearing the rain, watching the snow fall, decorating her home, talking on the telephone, eating barbeque and a good steak, having her hair and nails groomed, and being an elegant lady. Ruby was a hard worker and a beautiful person inside and out. She was a sweet and caring person who thought of others and who would do anything she could to help anyone when she was able. Ruby was a super loving sister to her siblings : Buddy Holmes, Mary Holmes Sellers, Kay Holmes Hicks, Nancy Holmes Lewis, Wanda Holmes Edwards, Rex Holmes, Ray Holmes, Libby Holmes Kizar, Mantha Holmes Harper, Joyce Holmes Hunt, and Anthony Holmes. Survivors include her husband, Maxie Williams, and son Brian Williams of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Kristie Williams of Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren Bailey, Blaine, Jesse and Heather and many nieces and nephews.
