Rudy Rodriguez

Rudy Rodriguez, 74, of Evans, CO entered into eternal rest on the evening of December 7, 2014 at University of Colorado Hospital in Denver. Rudy passed due to complications of a stroke and leukemia. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. He was born on May 27, 1940 to Antonio and Librada Rodriguez in Hillrose, CO. Rudy grew up in Hillrose and was married to Virginia Almeraz on September 21, 1959 in Fort Morgan, CO. After his honorable service in the U.S. Army of eleven years, Rudy worked for Sigman Meat Company and GTC/Coors Brewery as a truck driver. He retired in 2007. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, collecting Tonka trucks, gambling in Blackhawk, fishing with friends and farming pigs. Rudy was a member of the Greeley Evans Moose Lodge. He leaves wonderful memories to be cherished by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Rudy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Virginia Rodriguez of Evans; four daughters, Linda Rodriguez of Evans, Janet Mendoza and husband Reuben of Akron, CO, Pamela Rocha and husband Patrick of Greeley, and Melissa Sandoval and husband James of Greeley; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Garcia and husband Manuel of Sparks, NV, and Helen De La Fuente and husband Art of Brush, CO; a brother, Patrick Rodriguez of Downey, CA; a loving extended family and many friends. He will also be greatly missed by his special friend Coco, his dog. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Mark Rodriguez; and a great-grandson, Sincere Mendoza. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Rudy’s life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Greeley. Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley.
