"A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him." ~ Author Unknown

Russell Allen Curtis, known as "Stoneman," passed away on July 12, 2024. Russell was born in Northern Wisconsin on January 10, 1961, and moved to East Tennessee in the fall of 1976, where he fell in love with the mountains and its people, never leaving thereafter. He spent his entire life working as a stone mason.

In his later years, he enjoyed hiking the Appalachian Trail and spending time in nature. He cherished his daily walks with his friends Wayne and Tony, going to the races every year with his good friend, Jerry, and riding his motorcycle with his wife and friends, Rocky and Philip, along with other loved ones.  Russell never met a stranger and was known for his exceptional generosity.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie Curtis; his sons and their wives, Bradley and Bailey Curtis, and Jon and Racheal Qualls; his grandchildren, Shawn and Emma; his brothers and their wives Dennis Curtis, Randy and Rhonda Curtis, Ricky and Cora Curtis; his bonus brother, Curtis Freseth; and his favorite nephew, Mikey Gibson, who was one of his best friends. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his beloved dog, Buddy.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 24th from 12:00pm – 8:00pm at the VFW located at 261 Silver Lake Rd, Church Hill, TN.
