Ruth Ellan Dibben Byars went to be with her Lord Saturday, November 21, at the home of her daughter. Ruth was born in Alma, Nebraska, to Charles and Sarah Dibben in 1934, the youngest of 12. Ruth’s family moved to Idaho in 1942 where she met and married a Georgia boy, SSgt Hudon Byars Jr. in 1952 who passed away 25 years ago. They lived all over the US and in England and Spain with the Air Force. Along the way they had four children, all surviving, Donald Byars of Stockbridge, GA, Carol Canning of Garden City, ID, Dean Byars of Meridian, ID, and John Byars of Payette, ID. Ruth was a member of the Domes of Caldwell until she gave up housekeeping became a “snowbird” as she called it staying with her daughter, Carol, for the winters and attended Cross of Christ Wels Lutheran in Boise then moved to Payette with her son, John, for the spring and summers and attended Calvary Chapel Ontario. She is survived by one sister, Iola Busing of Nebraska, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. We want to thank her hospice team; we couldn’t have done it without them. The family will receive friends and family on Monday November 30th from 5-7 pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell and Funeral Services will be at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Dec. 1 at 1:00 pm, graveside to follow.
