Ruth Cusson
July 27th, 1958 - September 21st, 2017
Ruth Cusson, a Salinas resident, was promoted to glory at 59 years old, on Sept. 21, 2017, after a courageous fight with cancer. She was born July 27, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan. Ruth dedicated her life to loving and serving others through her work at , Social Security Administration, and Victory Mission (Salinas). If asked, she would say her greatest accomplishments were her three daughters and a granddaughter, who inherited her loving spirit. Ruth is survived by husband, Ken Cusson; daughters, Kristen (Kyle) Chavez and Kathy Cusson; granddaughter, Kallie Chavez, and uncle, Mike (Glenna) Nagy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Memery Schweppe, and her daughter, Kori Cusson. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, 11am at First Baptist Church of Salinas. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Victory Mission of Salinas.

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
