Mrs. Ruth W. Jackson, age 99 a resident of Auburndale passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Life Care Center of Winter Haven. Mrs. Jackson was born April 22, 1921 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Daniel and Sarah (Herring) Wilcurt. She was an Auburndale resident since 1987 coming from Indiana. Ruth was a retired Phone Operator for Bell Telephone Company of Indiana. She was a past member of Havendale Christian Church in Auburndale and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – M. Gene Jackson; 3 brothers – Jay, Daniel & John; 2 sisters – Pauline & Anna and grandson – Jeffery J. Somoya. Ruth is survived by her loving family, only son – Julius John Somoya of Auburndale, FL.; granddaughter – Monica Jo Somoya-DeSpain and her husband James of Greenwood, IN.; 2 stepdaughters – Sondra Gene Danner of Homer, IL. and Betty Lou Ruth of Greenwood, IN. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, April 15th at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment and graveside service will be held in Greenwood, Indiana.
