McVey, Ruth Florence 86, of St. Petersburg, died Friday, June 5, 2009, at Carrington Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Detroit, MI, she came here in 1960 from Dearborn. She graduated from St. Alphonsus High School and attended business school after the war. She was a United States Navy veteran of WWII, member of Sand Dollar Unit of the WAVES National, and also was Roman Catholic. She worked in the front office for Bay Point Elementary School from 1971 - 1992. She is survived by 4 sons Donald Francis McVey, III, St. Petersburg, FL Patrick J. McVey, South Pasadena, FL, Timothy J. Christine Morita-McVey, Portland, OR, Kevin M. Jan McVey, St. Petersburg, FL and a daughter Suzanne R. McVey, South Pasadena, FL, a sister Casey Beals, Traverse City, MI , 5 grandchildren Marie, Evan, Aralynn, Kelly and Kai .
