Ruth E. Naphy, 87, of National Park, NJ died peacefully on Friday, June 28th, 2019. Ruth was born in Woodbury, NJ and most of her life in Thorofare, NJ. Ruth graduated from Paulsboro High School as Ruth Rathof. Ruth was a loving mother, Nana, Great Nana and a caring wife. She loved being with her family and animals. Ruth enjoyed reading, knitting,crabbing, spending time on the beach and traveling to Florida and Maryland. Ruth spent her last 20 years in National Park, NJ. She was an active member of the National Corps Ladies Auxiliary Army & Navy Union Garrison #52 and also a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States of America # 7125 Verga, NJ as well as National Park. Ruth held various position in the Ladies Auxiliaries including secretary and treasurer. Ruth is the beloved wife for the last 30+ years to Paul J. Naphy and 24 years to Fred C. Gattuso - deceased. Devoted mother to Dan Gattuso (Kyle Mary), Sandra DeVine, Dennis Gattuso - deceased (Dottie) and Judith Savina (Michael). Cherished Nana of Desiree’ (Bill), Kim, Ian (Jillian), Gabe, Elliot (Bethany), Andrew, Nicole (Anthony), Cathy (Jay), Tim (Jenni) and Alexis - deceased. Precious Great Nana to Ryder, Isabella, Levi, Maggie Jane, Taylor, Cassidy, Geneveive, Gunnar, Alanna, Georgia, Parker and Ellison. Daughter of the late Ruth and Walter Rathof. Dear sister to Fritz, Winifred - deceased (George) - deceased, Jim (Sandy), Richard - deceased, Phil (Louise), Ken ( Lorraine), Wayne - deceased (Judy). Ruth will be missed by many friends and family. Funeral Services will be private.
