Lexington, Kentucky Penny Rostal - 85, Beloved wife of Albert Rostal (deceased), died from a short but hard fought battle with lung cancer on December 29, 2013. She was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin in 1928, and travelled extensively across the United States with her parents. She's been a resident of Lexington, Kentucky since 1964. Penny was the center of an extensive family and the heart of a home filled with love and laughter. Penny is survived by her daughter Vicki Seale and husband Jack Seale, and daughter Brigadier General Linda Medler, USAF and her husband Colonel (retired) Andrew Medler, USAF; her six grandchildren Larry Subervi and wife Monica Subervi, Michael Medler, Jennifer Steinman and husband Specialist Tony Steinman, USA, Dr. Dawn Sorenson and husband Steve Sorenson, Jackson Seale and Justin Seale, and her ten great grandchildren, Nathan Ybarra, Brianna and Derrick Subervi, Branden and Conner Layne and Victoria Steinman, Addyson and Brynlee Seale, and Ava and Thomas Sorenson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Al Rostal, her parents John and Naoma Penny, and her sisters Mary O'Hanlon, Margaret Dickson, and Frances Penny. She graduated from Devry Business College in Chicago in 1947 and was employed at the Chicago Merchandise Mart. She then worked alongside her husband Al at several outdoor advertising companies. She was featured on a "Live United" poster for the United Way of the Bluegrass, in Downtown Lexington during the 2009 through 2011 Campaigns. Penny was an avid University of Kentucky Football and Basketball fan and lifetime supporter. Her football expertise would wow a room full of die-hard football fans, and was the envy of many of her friends and family members. She bequeathed her body to the University of Kentucky, and through her generosity a generation of aspiring doctors will learn to heal others, perhaps eradicating the very illness that took her from us. Her warmth, hospitality and kindness remain her lasting legacy and will be deeply missed. Funeral Information A celebration of life will be held February 9, 2014 from 4-7pm at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. The family would like to invite you all to wear your favorite UK Sports clothing to help ensure a true celebration of a life well lived.
