"Northampton, Ruth E. Rusby, 93, died peacefully at home on Friday, November 15th, 2013. Born in Medford, MA on February 6, 1920, she was the daughter of William and Christina (Nelson) Jersey. She relocated to Northampton in 2008, previously residing in Springfield since 1955. She was a gifted pianist and enjoyed all types of music, she enjoyed playing pool, feeding the birds NASCAR and loved animals and the Red Sox. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Clifford, in 2004. She will be forever missed by her daughters, Cynthia Truce and her husband Stanley of Chicopee and Christine Kubacki of Goshen, MA along with her grandchildren, Karl Heston and Rachel Lewis and two great grandchildren, Reese Heston and Nathaniel Lewis. Besides her husband, her brother, Henry Wallengren also predeceased her. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19th at Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. A Celebration of Life Service will follow the visitation at 11:30 a.m. Burial is private to the family. Donations in her memory may be made to either, Dakin, Box 6307, Springfield, MA 01101 or MSPCA"
