Ruth Schroer

Ruth Wehage Schroer was born March 3, 1920 in Newport, KY. She went to be with the Lord on November 21, 2015. Ruth graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Covington, KY in 1938 and attended Xavier University Evening College. Ruth married Ralph Schroer on Thanksgiving Day in 1942. They moved to Cocoa Beach in 1958. Ruth was a Charter Member of the Church of Our Saviour. She was the past president of Our Saviour's Catholic Women's Club, and she served as a Eucharistic Minister at the 8:00 Mass on Sunday. Ruth volunteered at the Cocoa Beach Library from 1959-1966. She was employed by NASA at Patrick AFB during the years of the Moon Program, 1967-1975. She also volunteered as a tax counselor for the elderly from 1976-1996. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Ralph of 57 years, her sister Delores Goetz, and a nephew Danny Goetz. Survivors include her brother William J.(Carleen) Wehage of Crestview Hills, KY and her nine nieces and nephews: Anna Wehage Gurley, Laura Wehage (Edward) Spencer, William J. (Karen) Wehage, Jr., Sara Wehage (Rick) Flynn, Andrew Wehage, Julia Wehage, Donna Goetz, Theresa (Robin) Rowe, Paul (Kara) Goetz. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 15 at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of Our Saviour. Burial will follow in the Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Church of Our Saviour, 5301 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach. You may sign Ruth's guestbook at www.beckman-williamson.com.
