Ruth C Stokes of Chico, CA passed away March 10th at 1:30 am. Born on the 5th of July 1937 to Aileen Ruth Kunkel and Warren Samuel Kunkel in Montrose, CO, she attended school at Peagreen Elementary followed by High School in Olathe in Montrose County. She found her Soul Mate in Bobby Ray Stokes and was married on March 6th 1954. Ruth and Bob celebrated their 60th Anniversary days before Ruth passed away. She put her family first and worked her career around raising her children. She worked many years as a professional cook, and managed Chico States' Cafeteria by the Creek (Sylvesters) for several years. These were years that were fondly remembered. Ruth is survived by her husband Bobby Ray Stokes in Chico CA and three sons, Curtis Stokes, Roy Stokes, and Warren Stokes. She is also survived by her brothers Joseph and Phil Kunkel as well as 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
