Whitcomb, Ruth Renee (Magnuson) Of Fridley died on Saturday, March 6, 2021. Preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ruth Magnuson and siblings Mertes (Gary), Roy Jr. (Shirley), Warren, Janet, Roger. Survived by her beloved husband, Rev. Roland P. Whitcomb, her children, Roland Whitcomb Jr.(Lisa), Richard Whitcomb (Karyn), and Renee Lucas, Grandchildren Joni Carlson, Charles Whitcomb, Jonathan Whitcomb, Emily Whitcomb, Elsie Whitcomb, Eleanor Whitcomb, William Whitcomb, Elliot Whitcomb, Jack Lucas, Elaina Lucas, Rebecca Lucas, two great-grandchildren, Kevin and Cameron. her sisters-in-law, Patricia Magnuson, Elizabeth Magnuson. A loving wife and mother, Ruth grew up in St Paul and graduated from Johnson High School, making a name for herself in the choirs and musicals. She studied voice at Northwestern College in Minneapolis, which she has used her whole life to minister at various churches. She worked in several places throughout her life, including the Great Northern Railroad offices in St Paul. Ruth was a great partner in ministry to her pastor husband of 64 years, Roland. She took care of people in the community, led numerous Bible studies, started youth and children’s ministries, worked tirelessly at several churches throughout her life including 37 years at Morrison Baptist Church in North Minneapolis.
