Donald Warren Ryan Ammons, age 59 of Charlotte passed away Monday, May, 9, 2016 at his residence. Ryan was born January 19, 1957 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Jethro and Edith "Daisy" Ammons. He is survived by his brother Johnny J. Ammons and his wife Margaret of Columbia, SC; two nieces Eve Marie Ammons and Edie DuPree both of Columbia, SC; two Goddaughters Olivia Rothgeb-Marion and Sydney Rothgeb-Marion of Charlotte and longtime special friends Sara Kidd and Sam Chandler both of Charlotte. In addition to his parents Ryan was preceded in death by his special Aunt Rosie. Ryan was a longtime hair stylist in Charlotte owning and operating Ryan's Salon for the past twenty nine years. He was a volunteer at the Dilworth Soup Kitchen and Time Out Youth. Ryan was an avid reader, painter, gardener and enjoyed playing a good practical joke on friends. He had a smile that could light up a room and a compassionate heart that provided encouragement to his clients, family and friends. A Celebration of Ryan's life will be held Sunday, June 12 at 4:00PM at The VanLandingham Estate, 2010 The Plaza, Charlotte, NC 28205. Memorial contributions may be made to Time Out Youth, 2320 North Davidson Street, Charlotte, NC 28205 or the Levine Cancer Institute, 1021 Morehead Medical Drive, Charlotte, NC 28204 in memory of Ryan.
