Ryan Douglas Cook was born on June 27, 1958 in Wilmington, Del. and was called home to heaven on Dec. 15, 2013 at the age of 55 years and 6 months. Within days of birth he was adopted by his parents Norman and Helen (who was always called Maxine) Cook. They were military and lived first in Holton, Kansas. Ryan grew up in many places, including Kansas, Washington State, Hawaii, and ending back in Seattle, WA. Ryan finished high school at Stealth High School in Seattle, Wash. During his high school days, he was very involved with music and bands. Ryan’s family included two brothers and 2 sisters. After high school, Ryan attended college for one year and then enlisted in the Army. He was stationed at Ft. Huachuca, AZ., then in Germany at Volgelweh Base; Texas, back to Germany, then ending his duty in CAL. Following his career as an E-5 Sergeant, he and Mary Anne (who he met in Germany at the Volgelweh PX) moved to Florida in 1992. They had married in 1991 in Petaluma, Cal. with a celebration at the Presidio, in San Francisco. When they moved to Brevard County, Ryan worked at Sea Ray Boats of Merritt Island, working himself up “from the bottom” to being a Computer Analyst until 2006. Following his work at Sea Ray he worked at Mack Technologies in Melbourne as a quality control engineer. But Ryan’s real vocation always was his Christian music. He and MaryAnne were leaders of the Illumination Band at Trinity Lutheran in Rockledge; Faith Merritt Island; leading and planning worship at the new mission church of Grace Lutheran, Merritt Island, and Faith Viera Lutheran. They played for a large number of venues, at National youth Gatherings; ministries in Georgia, New Orleans, etc. – not just in churches but also in jail ministry and down-and-out places. He loved to be able to bring the love of Christ through music to others. One of his dreams was to finish his career in the “working world” and then become a fulltime Music Minister. Ryan’s other interests included his motorcycle, more music, and spending time with his granddaughter Morgan. They lived in Rockledge Golf View; then in Auburn Lakes, Viera, and recently in Phillips Landing, Rockledge, Fl He was predeceased by his father Norman Cook; son Douglas in July, 2013. He is survived by his wife MaryAnne, son Brian, and mother Maxine of Holton, KS; two sons in Sierra Vista, AZ – Daniel and Sean; brother Ron (and wife Brenda) of Whiting, KS; Rick (and fiancée Lisa) of Seattle, Wash; sister Maria (and husband Tom) of Stehekin, Wash.; and sister Paula of Anchorage, Alaska, (and also special friend Jasmine, their Pekingese). In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Z88.3 (Christian Radio Station, 1065 Rainer Drive, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. ) Services will be at 2 p.m. on Dec. 29th, 2013 at Faith Viera Lutheran Church, 5550 Faith Dr. Rockledge, Fl followed by internment at the church columbarium with reception in the Fellowship Hall after.

I worked at Mack with Ryan ,I was in IPC620 certification training with him in the end of October.Although we worked in the same department (Quality),I only have "minimal" contact with Ryan, but most I can remember about him is he was a decent person and now I understand more after reading his memorial page.I am glad that he was a Christian, since it is still hard for us to understand why he was taken so early,God must needed a "music minister" in heaven. My deepest condolenses to the family and specially to his wife MaryAnne but he is now in heaven and i'm surely confident that he will be there to see you again someday.God Bless and trust in the Lord I know it is hard, but he have a reason and he will explain it to you someday..

Ryan will be missed on so many levels - as a friend, a co-worker, a lunch buddy, a confidant, and one of the "Wild Hogs". He was one of those special people that so many called a friend, and I was honored to be his friend. Rest easy my friend.

Ryan was a great man with a big heart and warm smile. I will miss talking with him like we use to do while waiting for our morning coffee to brew in the breakroom. He was always so jolly and so easy-going. The world needs more like Ryan. He is truly missed and my prayers go out to his family during such a difficult time. God bless.

My sincere condolances to MaryAnne and family. Ryan will be deeply missed by all who ever came in contact with his warm personality, friendly smile and hardy laugh. I had the pleasure to work with Ryan at Mack in many venues through the years, and always found his presence to be uplifting and helpful to all. Ryan was a great guy with an easy smile. I was not aware of his work in the Music Ministry but he definetely exuded the "Peace that Passes with Understanding". The world would be a better place with more people like Ryan. May God bless Ryan and his family

It was a pleasure working with Ryan. He was a great trouble-shooter and always tackled problems head-on. A task once assigned to him got his full attention and he worked very hard to do his very best. He will be sorely missed at Mack Technologies, FL.

Dearest Mary Ann, I was unable to attend the celebration of Ryan's life due to illness. No doubt it was a beautiful service. You and Ryan have touched my heart and the hearts of others with your music ministry. May God hold you close and give you a peace that passes understanding. I am praying for you and your family.

Jim and I never had the chance to meet Ryan but heard so much about him from my sisters and mother: Janet, Gail and Deloris Beyers. He made them welcome in his home for most holidays making their time away from family a time of joy. He will be greatly missed but has been received by God as one of his many angels.

I just came on board at Mack and worked with Ryan for a couple of weeks before he was called home to our father. The time I did see Ryan i witnessed the most kindness and smart person and I wish I have had more time to get to know and learn from Ryan.

My prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. From the history posted, Ryan has done a life of God's work here on earth and now God wants him to celebrate with Him. May the good Lord give you peace and comfort in knowing that.

1 Thessalonians 4:14-17 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Rest easy, and see you later my friend.

Ryan...you will be sorely missed! I didn't have much time to get to know you at Mack but the time we spent with co-workers laughing and talking (in Cell # 2) was always a great time! It's hard to believe you will not be strolling in to eat with us anymore but we will always be thinking about you. Now that you are with God please help him watch over you wife and family. May God's blessing be upon them during this hard time. RIP
