Ryan lost his battle with Cystic Fibrosis on Tuesday November 18th at the University of Washington Medical Center. The Drs. and staff tried heroically to save him but the damage to his lungs was just too much. Ryans wish was always to be a donor and through him two local men received kidneys! His lungs took a plane ride to the University of Miami for research and his liver went to the International Institute of Advancement of Medicine in New Jersey. Ryan did not get to travel (other than to California) and he would be pleased that he went cross country! Ryan was born on July 8, 1990; he lived at our home in Snohomish from the day he was born except for the four years when he attended the University of Washington. He graduated in 2012 with Bachelor Degree in History and Political Science as well as several additional endorsements. His goal was to become a teacher to special needs students. Although his health did not allow this, he did gain great joy by being an assistant football coach at Glacier Peak High School the last two seasons. Ryan was blessed with a wonderful group of friends who supported him through good times and bad times, we wish to thank them all you truly made his life better! Ryan proposed to the love of his life this summer, Mikaela Gatterman, she accepted and she will now carry his undying love with her forever. We love you like a daughter Mik. Ryan was also blessed with three great brothers David, Mitch and Jarrett. They will miss him more than words can express but we are committed to staying a strong tight family and relying on each other to get through our loss. I am so proud of our sons, through the last week they have been a source of strength for their mom and dad. Our beautiful boy was a joy EVERY day of his life to us, he taught us strength, non judgment, patience, tolerance, and to find joy even in the midst of despair. You are invited to a Celebration of Ryan Siebers life this Saturday, November 23rd at 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Glacier Peak High School. In honor of Ryans love of all that is football we request that you wear a Seahawks jersey or tee, or your high school or college colors. This will not be formal - no suits - jeans are fine, and children are welcome. Come prepared with Ryan stories or a lesson he taught you - there will be an open mic. Our goal is to say our final goodbyes to Ryan in the way he would have most enjoyed- a celebration type atmosphere. Will there be tears - of course - but even through our sadness we will say goodbye with smiles and laughter and remember him as strong and beautiful! Glacier Peak High School is located about three miles from our home at 7401 144th Place SE Snohomish WA 98296
