Sally "Sarah" Anne Lambert

The Rev. Sally (Sarah) Anne (Foose) Lambert died October 11, 2016, following a heart attack. Born June 3, 1938 in Topeka, KS, she graduated from Washburn University with a BA in Communications. She received an MA in Counseling Psychology from George Fox University, Portland, OR. She was married to Jack Lambert for 21 1/2 years and they had children, Jim and Melissa. Sally and Jack owned and operated World Travel Agency in Salina, KS for 5 years. Sally spent her life in service to others through the Girl Scouts and Mother to Mother Ministry in KS; and addiction and mental health services in KS, OR and WA. She was ordained to the diaconate in The Episcopal Church June 18, 1983 in the Diocese of Western Kansas where she served at Christ Cathedral in Salina, KS. In 1987, Sally moved to Portland, OR where she served in multiple Episcopal churches. Education For Ministry, the Order of St. Luke, and the Cursillo movement benefitted from her ministry. She enjoyed classical music, mystery novels, her pets, and her volunteer work at Hoyt Arboretum. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Sarah (Chambers) Foose and her son, Jim Lambert. She is survived by her daughter Melissa (Lambert) Livengood, her grandchildren Madison E. Livengood and Chase B. Livengood, those she served in a lifetime of ministry, and all those who love her. Funeral service will be Friday, October 21, 1:00 pm, Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Portland, OR. In lieu of flowers Sally requested donations be made to Washburn University Foundation, Topeka, KS; Columbia River Mental Health Services, Vancouver, WA; or the church ministry of your choice
