Salvatore A. Vitale

Salvatore Anthony Vitale, 98, of Rotonda West, passed away Sunday evening, May 3, 2015 at Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota, FL. Born on February 2, 1917 in Brooklyn, NY to Antonio and Theresa (Andolino) Vitale he had been a resident of Charlotte County for forty-three years coming from Parlin, NJ. A graduate of Newark College of Engineering, a tool and die maker by trade, Sal retired as a supervisor in 1963 from Lionel Corp. after twenty-eight years. He was a charter member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, a past Grand Knight of the K of C; and a member of the B.P.O.Elks. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 75 years: Ida of Rotonda West, FL; two sons: Kenneth P. (Cindy) of Lawrenceville, NJ; John W. (Lynn) of Englewood, FL; one sister: Julia of Holmdel, NJ; two grand children and three great grand children. Sal is pre-deceased by his grand daughter: Kristen Vitale in 2007. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 2 PM until 4 PM and 6 PM until 8 PM at the Englewood Community Funeral Home, 3070 South McCall Road, Englewood. Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10 Am at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 5265 Placida Road, Grove City, FL. Entombment will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Park Cemetery.
