We are very sad to announce the sudden departure of Sam Becker. He passed unexpectedly in his sleep on 1/10/24 with his faithful dog Penny by his side. Sam graduated from Ventura high school and went on to Ventura College where he took welding classes and became a certified welder. Sam had a kind heart and was a happy outgoing person who was well liked in the Ojai community where he lived and worked for the past 10 years. Sam had met the love of his life Monique Castaneda, and they had planned to Marry on April 2024. He was very enthusiastic about their future plans together. Sam also enjoyed riding his Bolt motorcycle and he had joined the So Cal Bolt Riders Club where he made many friends. He also enjoyed ballistics and target shooting with his good friends as well as camping and barbecuing. Sam was in the process of starting his own pool service business in the Ojai Valley. He was enjoying the recent success of his business and the many new people that he had met. Sam is survived by his mother Sharon Taghavi, his stepfather Hormoz Taghavi, his Fiancé Monique Castaneda, Grandmother Beverle Strahlstrom, his brother Grant Becker, his sisters Pam Becker, Michelle Becker, and Dawn Griffith. Aunts Mary Gladden, Patty Tolegian, Cindy Becker, Pat Amico and Beth Wells, Uncles Fred Becker, Jim Amico, David Tolegian, Steven Strahlstrom, and numerous cousins. Sam is predeceased by his father Jerry Becker, Grandmother Neta Becker, Grandfathers Fred Becker and Ted Strahlstrom, Aunt Nancy Abney and Uncle Dale Abney. Rest easy my Son we will met again on the other side. Godspeed. At his family's request there will not be any alcohol served at the Celebration of Life. Death Is Nothing At All Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again! Henry Scott-Holland.
