Samuel I Dancil
February 5th, 1970 - March 16th, 2023
On March 16th, 2023, Samuel I. Dancil was called home to God after a valiant and courageous battle against non-smoker’s (ROS1 mutation) lung cancer. Sam is survived by his Mother, Anisah Muhammad, his daughters, India Dancil, Francceska Dancil, Irashé Dancil, and son Nathan Metras, niece Thandekah Dancil, brothers David Dancil and Genghis Muhammad, sister Kelia Harris, and an abundance of family and friends whom he held dear. As a former National Karoke Championship winner and Red Brick Records recording artist, Sam found joy in composing and writing music, as well as gracing the stage to perform for the masses. A beacon of hope and light to all he touched, when he wasn’t serenading others, Sam found purpose in spreading positivity to those around him with the message to “Get Up and Go, In Spite Of” their circumstances. Even in his passing on 3/16, Sam’s faith and love of the Lord held firm: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 Sam was a light who clearly shined too brightly for this Earth, and will be missed. Calling hours will be from 10AM-12PM on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Word of Life Assembly of God Church, 12 East Oneida Street, Baldwinsville, NY 13027. Services will begin at 12PM. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse, NY. All are welcome.
