Samuel Noble
September 16th, 1926 - May 29th, 2012
NOBLE, Samuel, 85, of Land O’ Lakes, FL passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012. He was born September 16, 1926 in Minden, Germany and at the age of three his parents William and Esther Noble migrated to Detroit, MI. Sam graduated from Denby High School and served in the United States Army during WWII. Following his brother Joel Noble’s lead, Samuel attended Andrews University where he met and married Violet VanRaden of Fertile, Minnesota. He and Violet became the proud parents of Nancy Lorraine (Drazen) and Rudie Dwayne Noble. After Violet’s passing in 1961, Sam married Loretta Mae Myers July 29, 1966 and they settled in Commerce Twp, MI until retiring to Land O’ Lakes Florida. Preceded in death were Samuel’s wives Violet and Loretta, his brother Joel, and daughter Nancy. He is survived by his sister in-law Beverly Wildman-Noble, son in-law Daniel Drazen, son Rudie, daughter in-law Diana, and grandchildren Breana and Brendan Noble. Always drawn to photography, Sam operated a photo finishing business in the 1950s while living in Harper Woods, MI. He later opened a camera manufacturing company where he built a unique 35mm camera designed to hold three rolls of film at one time allowing a photographer to quickly change between film types. Later he partnered with Charles Helin, inventor of the Flatfish fishing lure, to manufacture the first pocket camera utilizing a film cartridge. Sam loved creating solutions to observed problems and spent much of his time as an inventor of items to solve those problems. He was always developing better methods to do something whether for General Motors, where he worked as a tool-maker, or for his own company, Circle N Products. He loved tinkering and customized cars. Later he found great joy being surrounded by nature, feeding the fish in his pond, having fun with friends, and dressing up to go out for dinner. Sam touched the lives of many people with his bloviated story telling and identification of life’s potential. A funeral service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 3rd at Loyless Funeral Home. Samuel’s family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow on Monday morning at the Florida National Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Sam’s life can be made to your local Humane Society or Maranatha Volunteers International (www.maranatha.org).
