Sandra "Nana" Grizzle

Duffield, VA – Sandra “Nana” Grizzle,72, Bishoptown Community, went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 following a brief illness. She was born May 31, 1951 in Kingsport, TN, a daughter of the late Oscar S. Houser, Sr. and Lois Jeanette (Lyons) Houser. Sandra was a member of Old Midway Church where she served as the secretary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Anthony Wayne Grizzle; son-in-law, George Szabo; several sisters and brothers. Surviving are her husband of over 56 years, Hollis Wayne Grizzle, Sr.; daughter, Angela Darlene (Grizzle) Szabo; son, Hollis Wayne Grizzle, Jr. and wife Rachel; grandchildren, Chaz Honaker and wife Ashley, Cody Hoanker, Carrigan Honaker, Hillary Grizzle, Courtney Grizzle, Hayden Kirchner and Hannah Kirchner; great-grandchildren, Cadence Honaker, Callie Honaker, Colton Shaffer, Lincoln Shaffer, Maverick Baltimore, Connor Craig, Caylen Craig, Carlos Haro, IV and Kylie Haro; sister, Patricia Castle; brother, Oscar “Junior” Houser. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 13, 2023 at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, VA with Pastor Denny Hass and Brother Jack McCracken officiating. Music will be provided by the Old Midway Church Singers. Family and friends are welcome to gather at 10:30 am at the funeral home for the service. Interment will follow in the Grizzle Family Cemetery , located next to her home. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
