Her parents, Arthur and Ethel Herskowitz of Albany, New York, preceded her in death. Sandy also leaves many close, loving supportive friends. After graduating from Boston University with a Master's in Social Work she became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Boston, Massachusetts. She worked for Children's Protective Services, Judge Baker Guidance Center and Casey Family Services. In that capacity her specialty was working with at- risk populations. She opened the Casey Massachusetts State Office serving hard-to-place foster children in specialized foster homes. In 1996 she moved to Florida where she opened a private psychotherapy practice and continued working in Human Services. Her proudest accomplishment was the opening of the Home Share Program, while working for the Tarpon Springs Housing Authority, matching home owners and renters, making housing affordable for low wage earners and providing financial assistance to the home owners - the only such program in Florida. People were attracted to Sandy because of her captivating and empathetic personality. She was surrounded by love, family and friends. Sandy certified as a Laughter Leader and consultant, used her people skills and humor to help others enjoy their work and their lives. Ho Ho Ha Ha Ha! Sandy and Pat were certified scuba divers, they traveled to most of the Caribbean Islands diving over 300 dives. Most recently they took two extended RV trips around the country traveling 12,000 miles. Services will be conducted at 2PM Thursday March 26, 2015, at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Largo, Florida. Sandy was a supporter of Vincent House and in lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made tovincenthouse.org. David C.
